Beginning in the City of Wolverhampton, Byron Taylor has been dedicated
to the music ministry for over 10 years. From joining a mass choir, directing two church choirs, to then running his own worship teams and Gospel group. This group was formed in 2013 and were honoured to lead opening worship for Stellar Award winner Kierra Sheard in 2014. Byron & Favour released their debut single in September 2017 – He Reigns, and now follows with brand new Brokenhearted. Before the pandemic, Byron & Favour, representing all areas across the UK, were continually sharing their songs with churches and communities, but writing for an album has been Byron’s main priority.

Honorary member Destiny says “I’m so glad to see the release of
Brokenhearted and hopefully others during such a crazy time, it’s what we
need right now, that good, wholesome Gospel!”
Listen now, to hear how his inspirations have coloured his songwriting.
Byron takes inspiration from those who are well-respected in the Gospel
music industry. He says “Donald (Lawrence) & Luther (Vandross) really
add romance to their music whether it be secular or gospel”

Other influences include Richard Smallwood, Kurt Carr & The Clark Sisters, Byron mentions, “all of these artists take their craft seriously. They produce a range of work both simple and complex, they’re very diverse…They force
me to learn music and sharpen my ear”

Keep an eye out for the EP in the near future!
